UAE Celebrates Flag Day With National Unity Events
President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and other UAE leaders led nationwide celebrations on November 3 to honor the national flag and the country's unity.
The United Arab Emirates observed Flag Day on November 3, 2026, with official ceremonies and public displays of loyalty across all seven emirates. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, led the primary celebration at Qasr Al Hosn in Abu Dhabi, where he raised the national flag alongside 55 individuals from various sectors to symbolize the 55 years of the Union.
During the ceremony, the President paid tribute to the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the founding Rulers of 1971. The event served as a precursor to the country's founding anniversary on December 2. In Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, the Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain, affirmed that the flag represents the nation's sovereignty and dignity, noting that the occasion renews allegiance to the leadership.
Leading up to the day, Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum called on all citizens, residents, and institutions—including schools, universities, and private homes—to raise the flag. The annual observance is designed to reflect values of peaceful coexistence and tolerance, uniting a diverse population under a single symbol of national honor.
