IHG and Urban Property Group Announce Two NSW Hotels

IHG Hotels and Resorts and Urban Property Group announced the development of two new hotels in regional New South Wales, targeting markets with high infrastructure and tourism investment. The expansion includes the Crowne Plaza Newcastle and the Hotel Indigo Gosford.

The Crowne Plaza Newcastle will feature 171 rooms and serve as the anchor for a 43-storey mixed-use tower in Wickham. Located on the former site of the Bowline project next to the Newcastle Interchange, the development will also include 219 residential apartments, a restaurant, a lobby bar, a pool, and event spaces. It is expected to open in late 2029.

On the Central Coast, the partners will develop the 152-room Hotel Indigo Gosford within The Waterfront precinct, with a scheduled opening in mid-2030. These projects extend a partnership established in 2025 with the signing of Crowne Plaza Parramatta.

Managing Director of Australasia and Pacific Matt Tripolone stated that regional growth is a key part of the company's Australian strategy. Co-chief executive of Urban Property Group Patrick Elias described the hospitality projects as a natural extension of the company's business model.
