Radiant World Iron Ore Head Resigns Amid Fraud Probe

Leon Jin resigned as Radiant World's iron ore head in China after banks alleged the company provided falsified documents to secure credit.

Leon Jin, the head of iron ore for Radiant World in China, resigned on Monday following allegations that the commodities trader provided falsified documents to banks. The resignation comes as at least five banks reported that invoices used to underpin their exposure to the company were not genuine.

Financial institutions have responded by freezing accounts and suspending credit lines. The fallout has extended to the company's supply chain, with several major miners and Chinese buyers withdrawing their business. These events follow a period of operational difficulty and a trend of layoffs across the global offices of Radiant World.

The United States Department of Justice and the Singapore Police Force are currently investigating the trader. While these law enforcement agencies are conducting probes, Radiant World has not been formally accused of wrongdoing.
