APC Holds Final Rallies for Bola Oyebamiji in Osun
The All Progressives Congress and support groups held major mobilization events in Osogbo ahead of the August 15 Osun State governorship election.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) launched its final mobilization efforts in Osogbo this week to support governorship candidate Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji. Senior party leadership, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Progressive Governors Forum Chairman Hope Uzodimma, arrived in the city on Wednesday to lead a mega rally scheduled for Thursday. The event coincides with the August 13 campaign deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission, which had previously rescheduled the election from August 8 to August 15.
Parallel to the official party activities, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a support group for President Bola Tinubu, organized a Victory Walk through Osogbo. Supporters marched from the Aiyetoro area through Igbona Market and Old Garage, concluding at the Tinubu-Shettima Campaign Office. Group leaders claimed a support structure of over 95,000 members and emphasized that their campaign does not rely on federal influence to secure a win.
Oyebamiji, a former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, is campaigning on a platform of returning the state to development. While party officials and support groups focus on consolidating undecided voters, security coordinators for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors have called for a peaceful and violence-free election process on Saturday.
