National Stock Exchange of India Reports Profit Despite Revenue Dip
The National Stock Exchange of India reported a Q1 FY27 net profit of Rs 3,120 crore while preparing for a long-delayed initial public offering.
The National Stock Exchange of India reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 3,120 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, marking an 8.7% increase from the previous quarter's Rs 2,871 crore. This growth in profit occurred despite an 8.2% sequential decline in consolidated revenue from operations, which fell to Rs 4,560 crore from Rs 4,968 crore in Q4 FY26. The exchange saw its EBITDA margin expand to 77.9% from 73.1% during the period.
These financial results arrive as the exchange moves toward a delayed initial public offering. On June 17, the exchange filed a draft red herring prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Board of India for an offer for sale of 14.89 crore equity shares. The IPO has been delayed for nearly a decade following a 2015 co-location controversy involving allegations of preferential trading access.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India is expected to issue a final settlement order regarding the co-location matter shortly. Reports indicate the settlement amount may exceed Rs 1,400 crore.
