Adam Hamilton Retains Pastoral Role After Kansas Senate Win

Adam Hamilton, the founder and lead pastor of Resurrection United Methodist Church, will keep his pastoral role after winning an election to represent Kansas in the United States Senate.

Church leaders announced Wednesday that Hamilton will reduce his responsibilities and preach only occasionally to accommodate his duties in Washington, D.C. Hamilton stated he intends to "continue to shepherd them and care for them, but on a very part-time basis" while representing Kansans in the Senate.

While church leadership and supporters expressed confidence in his integrity and wisdom, some congregants remain politically divided over the election results.
