Chinese Robot Makers Capture 97% of Global Market

Chinese humanoid robot manufacturers dominated global shipments in early 2026 despite a recent United States import ban on the technology.

Chinese humanoid robot manufacturers controlled more than 97% of the global market in the first half of 2026. Total global shipments rose to approximately 19,100 units, a sharp increase from the 5,100 units shipped during the same period in 2025.

Agibot Inc. led the market with a 44% share, shipping 8,400 units. Unitree Robotics followed as the second-largest provider, shipping 5,900 units. This volume indicates a widening gap between Chinese firms and U.S. competitors including Tesla Inc., Figure AI Inc., and Agility Robotics Inc.

The market has shifted toward professional use, with industrial and commercial applications now accounting for over 70% of shipments. This growth persists despite the United States government banning imports of new Chinese humanoid and quadruped robots in late July 2026. The U.S. administration cited national security and cybersecurity risks to AI infrastructure as the primary reasons for the ban.
