BJP MP Daughter Defies Party After Celebrating Minister's Resignation
Archita Sachin Rahar sparked controversy within the BJP after celebrating Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation and refusing requests to delete her social media posts.
Internal tensions surfaced within the Bharatiya Janata Party in Odisha after Archita Sachin Rahar, daughter of MP Aparajita Sarangi, posted an Instagram message celebrating the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Rahar attributed Pradhan's departure to nationwide student protests regarding a NEET leak fiasco and openly defied requests from both her mother's office and Pradhan's staff to remove the content.
The defiance drew sharp criticism from party colleagues, including Jagannath Pradhan, who demanded an apology and cited a breach of party discipline. While Aparajita Sarangi publicly defended Dharmendra Pradhan, stating that resigning after owning moral responsibility requires courage, her office assistant, Dhaneswar Barik, defended her daughter's right to free expression.
Reports indicate that Rahar's Instagram account was subsequently deactivated following the backlash from Odisha BJP leaders.
