Uzbekistan Expands Strategic Economic Cooperation With China

Uzbekistan is strengthening ties with China through electric vehicle manufacturing, green energy projects, and the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.

Eldor Tulyakov, executive director of the Development Strategy Center of Uzbekistan, reports that high-level political trust between Uzbekistan and China is translating into tangible economic gains. The partnership focuses on expanding trade, investment, and joint ventures, specifically within electric vehicle manufacturing and green energy sectors.

A central component of this strategic cooperation is the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway. This infrastructure project aims to improve market access and foster the growth of auxiliary industries across the region. To support these industrial goals, the two nations are prioritizing vocational education and maintaining a mutual visa-free regime to cultivate the necessary talent for joint projects.

This bilateral relationship is supported by the Treaty on Eternal Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation and coordinated through frameworks within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Tulyakov noted that the results of this cooperation are most visible where infrastructure has been built and new professions have emerged.
