US Hosts Armenia and Azerbaijan to Discuss Peace Initiative

Officials from Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States convened in Washington, D.C., on August 10, 2026, to mark the first anniversary of the 2025 White House Peace Summit. The trilateral meeting focused on the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, specifically utilizing the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) initiative to foster economic development and regional connectivity.

Allison Hooker, the U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, hosted the talks alongside Vahan Kostanyan of Armenia and Elnur Mammadov of Azerbaijan. The participants addressed the ongoing delimitation of the border between the two nations and discussed confidence-building measures intended to strengthen mutual trust. The agenda also included the resolution of outstanding humanitarian issues.
