MacPaw and Liquid AI Partner for Local macOS AI Stack
MacPaw and Liquid AI are co-developing a local AI technology stack for macOS to enable private, offline AI capabilities for Mac users.
MacPaw and Liquid AI have entered a strategic long-term partnership to develop a local AI technology stack for macOS. The collaboration integrates Liquid Foundation Models (LFMs) with MacPaw's proprietary on-device inference and memory technologies, Elix and Mnemos, allowing AI to operate without an internet connection to ensure data privacy.
The companies will first implement this stack in Eney, an AI assistant for macOS, with results expected later in 2026. MacPaw and Liquid AI intend for these models and the inference framework to serve as shared infrastructure for the wider MacPaw ecosystem.
Beyond internal products, the partnership aims to provide these technologies to thousands of developers through the Setapp software marketplace. CEO Oleksandr Kosovan stated that the company is evolving its standalone products into a connected ecosystem with AI as a core technology.
