TCS Issues 25,000 Graduate Offers Amid AI Shift
Tata Consultancy Services extended 25,000 job offers to graduates for fiscal year 2027 while integrating AI into large-scale enterprise transformation deals.
Tata Consultancy Services extended 25,000 job offers to fresh graduates for the 2027 fiscal year, a decrease from the 44,000 hired in the previous fiscal year. CEO K Krithivasan stated that further hiring will depend on demand conditions, though he noted the current pipeline is stable and discretionary spending is showing early signs of recovery.
Despite a 2.4% decline in annual revenue for FY26—the company's first since its 2004 listing—the firm achieved a record total contract value of $40.7 billion. The company is pivoting toward bundled, large-scale transformation deals, with annualized AI revenue now exceeding $2.3 billion. To bolster these capabilities, the company acquired Salesforce consulting firm Coastal Cloud for $700 million and ListEngage for $73 million, while forming a partnership with Advanced Micro Devices.
Krithivasan dismissed predictions that the Indian IT services sector could become obsolete by 2030, arguing that enterprises need the expertise of firms like TCS to scale AI value. He also clarified that the layoff of at least 12,000 senior-level employees in FY26 resulted from evolving project execution styles rather than AI adoption. The company reports that it has completed its workforce restructuring cycle and is seeing improved decision-making cycles for mega deals.
