Israeli Strikes in Southern Lebanon Kill 13 in Kfar Rumman

The Israeli Military conducted a series of airstrikes, artillery shelling, and demolition operations across southern Lebanon on September 14, 2026. In the town of Kfar Rumman, strikes killed at least 13 people, including six children. The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health reported that 12 victims died when a residential building was hit, while a separate drone strike on a civilian vehicle killed one medic.

Israeli forces targeted several other areas, including Mansouri, Haris, and the Bint Jbeil district. Over the preceding weekend, strikes in Arab Salim and Nabatieh al-Fawqa killed at least 15 people and resulted in the destruction of Ghandour hospital. The Israeli military stated the Kfar Rumman operation targeted individuals transferring weapons and noted that Hezbollah launched two explosive drones toward troops near the Ali al-Taher ridge.

These operations follow a June 26 framework agreement that stipulated the gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon. However, continued military activity and the demolition of villages within a designated security zone have hindered the deployment of the Lebanese army and the return of residents. Since March 2, Israeli strikes in Lebanon have killed more than 4,300 people, including 250 children and 130 medics.
