Pakistan Secures Media and Trade Pacts with Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh
Pakistan held high-level meetings in Islamabad to expand cultural ties and agricultural exports with Saudi Arabia and industrial collaboration with Bangladesh.
The Government of Pakistan conducted a series of diplomatic meetings in Islamabad on November 3, 2026, to strengthen economic and cultural ties with Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh.
In discussions with Saudi Ambassador Rajeh Tami Albugamy, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar agreed to expand cooperation in digital media, entertainment, and tourism. The two nations plan to introduce Pakistani television dramas to Saudi audiences and exchange delegations of artists and writers. Tarar also proposed a joint working group of technical experts to combat misinformation and enhance fact-checking. These efforts build on a 2020 dubbing plan and a February 2025 agreement for joint documentaries and songs.
Simultaneously, Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain met with Ambassador Albugamy to increase Pakistan's share of the Saudi rice market, which currently stands at 10 percent. Hussain proposed Saudi investment in modern slaughterhouses and livestock farms to create disease-controlled supply chains, noting that 17 of 31 Pakistani slaughterhouses have already received Saudi technical approval.
In a separate diplomatic track, Pakistan and Bangladesh discussed industrial partnerships. Haroon Akhtar Khan, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Industries and Production, met with Bangladeshi Finance Adviser Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir to propose cooperation in electric vehicles, battery manufacturing, and solar technology. The discussions focused on technology transfer and joint ventures to drive export-led growth between the two nations.
