GAIL India Invests $63 Million to Restore LNG Terminal Capacity
GAIL India is investing $63 million to build a heating unit and power plant to restore full capacity at its Ratnagiri LNG terminal.
GAIL India is investing $63 million to construct a new heating unit at its liquefied natural gas terminal in Ratnagiri. The facility currently operates at approximately 50% capacity because its previous heat source, which relied on waste heat from a third-party power plant, is no longer functional.
The investment includes the construction of a small captive power plant to support heat generation for the facility. These upgrades are designed to allow the terminal to reach its full operational capacity of 5 million tons per annum.
Executive R. K. Singhal announced the project, which is scheduled for completion by June 2027. The restoration of full capacity will resolve the current constraints hindering the terminal's output.
