U.S. Mining Firms Report Major Antimony Breakthroughs in California and Utah

Two mining companies reported significant progress in developing domestic antimony supplies to reduce U.S. reliance on foreign imports, primarily from China. These efforts align with U.S. government priorities to secure critical minerals for military electronics, munitions primers, and semiconductors.

Locksley Resources produced antimony trioxide with 99.5% purity using feedstock from its Desert Antimony mine within the Mojave project in California. The company achieved this industry-grade metal through bench-scale metallurgical optimization, confirming that U.S.-based refining pathways are viable for the project's ore. The firm is now combining these results with its DeepSolv solvometallurgical technology and has launched a diamond drilling campaign to target depth extensions.

Simultaneously, American Tungsten & Antimony announced high-grade antimony discoveries at the Little Emma Prospect, part of the Antimony Canyon Project in Utah. Initial drilling from the company's first program yielded several key intercepts, with grades reaching as high as 66.47% Sb. These findings validate the company's geological model and suggest a substantial mineral system in the region.
