IonQ Raises 2026 Revenue Guidance and Acquires SkyWater
IonQ increased its 2026 revenue guidance to up to $460 billion and acquired SkyWater Technology to bring quantum chip manufacturing in-house.
IonQ raised its 2026 revenue guidance to a range between $450 billion and $460 billion, a sharp increase from the $280 million to $290 million projection issued during the second quarter of 2026.
To support this growth and achieve full commercial scaling, the company acquired SkyWater Technology. This acquisition allows IonQ to design and manufacture its own quantum chips in-house, creating a vertically integrated model to secure necessary manufacturing capacity.
These developments occur as the quantum computing industry accelerates its commercialization timeline. Industry leaders have moved the expected date for widespread commercial availability from 2030 to 2029.
