Early Voting Begins for Florida August Primary Election
Florida counties began early voting on August 3 for the August 18 Primary Election, with staggered schedules across various regions.
Early voting for the August 18 Primary Election began on August 3 across several Florida counties. Government of Orange County and the Government of Miami-Dade County opened polling sites on Monday, with Orange County's period extending through August 15 or 16 and Miami-Dade's running through August 16.
Other regions are following staggered start dates. Lake County began voting on August 6, Osceola County on August 7, and Seminole, Volusia, Brevard, Lee, and Broward counties on Saturday, August 8. Most Central Florida counties will conduct early voting from August 8 through August 15.
Voters must present a valid, non-expired photo and signature ID to vote in person, although provisional ballots remain an option for those without proper identification. Many counties have established secure ballot intake stations at early voting sites for the return of mail-in ballots. In Lee County, Supervisor of Elections Jenna Persons-Mulicka reminded voters that any mail-in ballot requests made before 2025 have expired.
