China Fixed-Asset Investment Drops 7.2 Percent Through August 2026
China's fixed-asset investment fell 7.2 percent in the first eight months of 2026, driven by a sharp decline in real estate development investment.
The National Bureau of Statistics reported that China's fixed-asset investment fell 7.2 percent year on year during the first eight months of 2026. Total investment reached approximately 29.3 trillion yuan, or 4.33 trillion U.S. dollars.
Real estate development investment drove the decline with a significant 19.9 percent drop. The information service industry grew by 22.7 percent, and aerospace and spacecraft manufacturing saw a 14.9 percent increase.
