National Security Council Warns of Terror Threats Ahead of October 7 Anniversary

The National Security Council warned of increased terrorism and antisemitism targeting Israelis and Jews abroad ahead of the third anniversary of the October 7 massacre.

The National Security Council issued a warning on Tuesday regarding heightened threats of terrorism, riots, and antisemitism targeting Israelis and Jews abroad. The council identified Iran, its proxies, Hamas, and Global Jihad factions as actors who view the third anniversary of the October 7 massacre as a significant milestone.

Travel advisories urge citizens to avoid Level 4 destinations, including Jordan, Qatar, Somaliland, and Egypt. The council further advised minimizing the use of Hebrew in Level 3 destinations and refraining from sharing military service details or travel plans on social media.

In response to the threats, the heads of the Israel Defense Forces, Shin Bet, and Israel Police conducted a joint situational assessment. The leaders focused on strengthening border and home front defenses while ensuring security for upcoming elections and addressing nationalist crime.
