Houthis Claim Air-to-Air Missile Strike on Saudi Fighter Jet
Houthi forces claim they struck a Saudi Arabian Eurofighter Typhoon with an air-to-air missile over Yemen's Saada governorate.
The Houthi movement claimed on October 15, 2026, that its forces targeted a Saudi Arabian Eurofighter Typhoon military aircraft using an air-to-air missile. The engagement reportedly took place over the Saada governorate in Yemen.
Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree stated the aircraft had departed from the Taif airbase in Saudi Arabia. Saree claimed the jet was struck directly and was at risk of crashing as a result of the hit.
Saudi Arabian authorities and independent sources have not confirmed the claim. It remains unclear if the aircraft was damaged or lost.
