Senate Democrats to Probe JPMorgan Chase Epstein Ties
Senate Democrats plan to investigate JPMorgan Chase's banking relationship with Jeffrey Epstein using subpoena powers after taking control of Congress next year.
The United States Senate Committee on Finance plans to launch an investigation into the banking relationship between JPMorgan Chase and disgraced sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The probe is scheduled to begin early next year after Democrats take control of Congress following their midterm election victories on Tuesday.
Staffers for the committee intend to examine how high-ranking executives managed Epstein's accounts. A primary focus of the inquiry will be the decisions made by Mary Erdoes, the CEO of the bank's Asset & Wealth Management business.
Senator Ron Wyden, who is expected to chair the committee in the next Congress, intends to utilize the committee's subpoena powers to conduct the investigation. JPMorgan Chase has not yet responded to requests for comment regarding the upcoming probe.
