Google Launches Gemini 3.7 Flash with 50% Price Cut

Google released the Gemini 3.7 Flash artificial intelligence model on August 14, 2026, just three weeks after the launch of Gemini 3.6 Flash. The new model is optimized for software engineering, web development, and knowledge-intensive fields such as law and medicine, featuring improved first-pass accuracy and multi-step reasoning. To attract developers from rivals, Google reduced token costs by 50%, pricing input tokens at $0.75 per million and output tokens at $3.75 per million through the end of 2026.

The model is integrated into Gemini Spark, Google's 24/7 personal AI agent, and is available via the Gemini API, AI Studio, and Android Studio. Additionally, Google added Gemini 3.7 Flash as a selectable option in the AI Mode of Google Search for Pro and Ultra subscribers. The company also debuted Sheets canvas, a feature that uses natural language prompts to turn spreadsheet data into interactive dashboards.

While the Flash series is iterating rapidly, the company faces investor uncertainty regarding its more powerful Pro models. CEO Sundar Pichai has declined to provide a specific timeline for the release of Gemini 3.5 Pro, despite stating a goal to release models at a faster pace. The 3.7 Flash update includes enhanced safety protocols designed to block malicious hacking and the misuse of chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear materials.
