William Ruto Accuses Uhuru Kenyatta of Sabotaging Government

President William Ruto accused former President Uhuru Kenyatta of attempting to destabilize his administration through political mobilization and the organization of demonstrations. Speaking in Sindo, Homa Bay County, at the conclusion of a four-day development tour of the Nyanza region, Ruto claimed that Kenyatta is running schemes to sabotage the government.

Ruto alleged that the two leaders had previously entered a political arrangement where each would serve as president for ten years. He claimed that while he supported Kenyatta through four elections, the former president failed to provide any support once Ruto took office. Despite acknowledging Kenyatta's democratic right to oppose him, Ruto urged his predecessor to respect the dignity of the former presidency and withdraw from active politics.

Defending his own record, Ruto stated that his government stabilized an economy left in tatters by the previous administration. He cited debt repayment, inflation reduction, and new investments in healthcare, education, and housing as evidence of his administration's success.
