Rahm Emanuel Tours New Hampshire to Signal 2028 Presidential Bid
Rahm Emanuel completed a 117-mile bicycle tour of New Hampshire to introduce himself to voters and promote a centrist platform ahead of the 2028 presidential primary.
Former U.S. Ambassador to Japan and former Mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel completed a 117-mile bicycle journey through New Hampshire known as the Spin-Free Tour. Riding from Portsmouth to Hanover, Emanuel used the trip to demonstrate physical fitness and tenacity while engaging in primary rituals, including union hall visits, house parties in Concord, and town halls.
Although he has not formally announced a candidacy, Emanuel is promoting a centrist political vision. He criticized the Trump administration for corruption and argued that his own party overreached in cultural debates, specifically citing concerns over locker room access over classroom excellence. His policy proposals include a mandatory retirement age of 75 for public officials and social media bans for children.
Beyond New Hampshire, Emanuel has traveled to Michigan and Mississippi to discuss education and has scheduled a visit to Israel next month to address U.S.-Israeli relations. During his New Hampshire tour, he expressed support for Democratic candidates Stefany Shaheen and Maggie Goodlander. Democratic strategist David Axelrod characterized the pace and nature of these activities as a clear precursor to a future presidential campaign.
