United States and Israel Escalate War Against Iran

The United States and Israel are engaged in a widening conflict with Iran, defined by a reciprocal aerial bombing campaign and a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. The military strategy has recently shifted from targeting Iranian military infrastructure toward civilian and economic targets.

In response to the escalation, 268 Iranian public figures, including activists, academics, and former government officials, released a joint declaration titled "We Do Not Want War." Published by the National Iranian American Council, the document calls for an immediate cessation of military threats and a return to diplomatic channels.

While the U.S. continues its current operations, some critics argue that the current strategy is insufficient to neutralize Iranian nuclear ambitions or reopen critical waterways. These critics suggest that a broader international coalition including Saudi Arabia, France, and Great Britain is necessary to force an Iranian capitulation.
