Nvidia Launches DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction for RTX GPUs

Nvidia released DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction to improve AI-powered denoising and lighting accuracy across a wide range of GeForce RTX GPUs.

Nvidia launched DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction on August 25, 2026, introducing a second-generation transformer model to improve AI-powered denoising in ray-traced games. The company later expanded the rollout at Gamescom 2026, making the feature available via an Early Access NVIDIA app update before a scheduled full public release in September.

The update features 20% more parameters and 35% more compute capability than previous versions. It aims to reduce ghosting, shimmering, and temporal instability while improving reflection detail and lighting accuracy. Testing in titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Pragmata, and Hogwarts Legacy shows the technology recovers fine details and produces more natural surface reflections without significant performance costs on RTX 40 and 50-series GPUs.

While Multi Frame Generation remains limited to newer hardware, Ray Reconstruction and Super Resolution are compatible with all GeForce RTX GPUs, including the RTX 20-series, though some older hardware may see a minor performance penalty. Nvidia currently supports 30 games through app overrides, including Alan Wake 2, with upcoming integration planned for titles such as 007 First Light and Gears of War: E-Day.
