Meta Launches Muse AI Agent and Expands Enterprise Push

Meta launched the Muse personal AI agent and hired former MongoDB CEO CJ Desai to lead a strategic expansion into enterprise AI services.

Meta is expanding its artificial intelligence ecosystem with the launch of Muse, a personal AI agent that reached over 5 million downloads in its first 22 days and topped the App Store during its first month. The company is integrating Muse into shopping, entertainment, and reservation services through partnerships with firms including Walmart, Best Buy, Spotify, OpenTable, and Ticketmaster.

To drive its corporate AI ambitions, Meta hired former MongoDB CEO CJ Desai as chief enterprise platform officer. This leadership change supports a broader strategy to diversify revenue streams beyond advertising by scaling enterprise AI capabilities.

The company is investing heavily in this transition, with capital expenditures on AI expected to reach $145 billion this year. Meta projects these costs will rise to between $240 billion and $260 billion over the next few years as it builds out its AI infrastructure.
