China and Central Asia Launch ESG Sustainability Casebook

China and Central Asian organizations released a collection of 13 successful ESG business cases to promote sustainable and ethical regional development.

Organizers released a casebook titled "ESG in Action across Central Asia: Outstanding Practice Cases" during a symposium held on July 15, 2026, in Astana, Kazakhstan. The publication details 13 successful business operations that prioritize sustainability and ethical impact, offering replicable models for policymakers and regional business leaders.

The China Economic Information Service, alongside the Belt and Road Initiative International Green Development Coalition and the China General Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan, coordinated the event. Featured projects in the casebook include agricultural efforts to convert Aral Sea wastelands into cotton farms and the Amu Darya River gas project in Turkmenistan.

Speaking at the symposium, Meerim Kozhokmatova, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Kyrgyzstan, stated that the cases are practical experiences that could inspire new cross-border initiatives. She noted that the collection is particularly valuable because it presents real practices that have already proved successful in Central Asia.
