Israeli Settlers Attack NBC News Team in West Bank
Israeli settlers assaulted an NBC News reporting team and a Palestinian woman in the West Bank using sticks during an interview.
Masked Israeli settlers attacked an NBC News reporting team and a Palestinian woman in the West Bank on Saturday. The assault occurred while the crew was interviewing Aida Ahmed Abdullah, who claimed settlers had forced her and her family from their home.
Attackers in a vehicle used sticks to strike the group. International correspondent Matt Bradley was hit twice in the arm, while producer Lawahez Jabari and a cameraman also sustained injuries. Abdullah was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Jabari reported that the attackers possessed a firearm, though it was not discharged during the incident.
The Israel Press Council responded by demanding that security forces ensure journalist safety and calling for the perpetrators to be located and prosecuted. The council stated that harming journalists is a "direct violation of the public's right to know."
