Santander UK Partners With Sibstar to Support Vulnerable Customers
Santander UK has partnered with Sibstar to provide specialized debit cards and spending management tools for customers living with dementia and learning disabilities.
Santander UK has established a partnership with Sibstar to provide specialized financial management tools for customers living with dementia, learning disabilities, or other health conditions. Under the agreement, the bank will refer vulnerable customers and their families to Sibstar's dedicated debit card and app service, which is designed to prevent overspending and protect users from scams.
The Sibstar service allows users to set spending limits and receive real-time notifications. While the debit card can be topped up via a Santander current account, Sibstar manages the product independently. The service requires a one-off setup fee of £4.99 and a monthly subscription of £4.99.
The initiative received support from the Alzheimer’s Society, which helped develop the product through its Accelerator Programme. The partnership aims to help vulnerable individuals maintain their financial independence while providing families with greater reassurance that everyday spending is safe and supported.
