Cambridgeshire Schedules Extensive Road Closures for Infrastructure Works
Cambridgeshire authorities and utility companies are implementing multiple road closures across the region through September to facilitate infrastructure and telecommunications projects.
Multiple road closures are scheduled across Cambridgeshire starting August 31, 2026, to facilitate various infrastructure works. In Cambridge, Jesus Lane, Park Street, and Round Church Street will close nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. between September 1 and 14, while Trumpington Road will follow the same nightly schedule through September 30.
Daytime closures will affect Great Gransden, where Middle Street and Sand Road will be closed between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. through early September. Additionally, the Stukeley Bypass remains closed in both directions until September 20.
Utility companies are managing several other specific sites. Cambridge Water is overseeing closures on Herne Road in Ramsey St Marys until September 1, and Quickline Communications is managing works on Marshalls Bank in Parsons Drove from September 1 to 11.
