Iran Warns of Crushing Response to US and Israel

Iranian military leaders warn that further adversary miscalculations will trigger a crushing response and the opening of new conflict fronts.

Iranian military and security officials have issued warnings of severe retaliation against the United States and Israel following a period of intense military conflict. Amir Hatami, Commander of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stated during a readiness review in Fars province that the armed forces are prepared to deliver a "crushing response" to any renewed military threats or mistakes by adversaries.

Hatami asserted that the "US-Israeli war against Iran" has not ended, urging military units to remain vigilant. This warning coincides with statements from Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, who cautioned that further miscalculations would trigger the opening of "new fronts" and "bigger surprises."

The rhetoric follows a series of escalations, including a 12-day war in June 2025 and a 40-day conflict beginning in February 2026. Tensions peaked in July when the United States conducted air raids and a naval blockade in violation of a June 17 Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding. Iran responded by closing the Strait of Hormuz to all traffic and launching strikes against strategic American targets across West Asia.
