New Jersey Online Casinos Outearn Atlantic City Land-Based Hotels

New Jersey online casinos earned $274.8 million in September 2026, surpassing land-based Atlantic City casinos as sports betting revenue declined.

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement reported that online casinos earned $274.8 million in September 2026, marking the third-highest monthly win in state history. This figure surpassed the $227.8 million earned by Atlantic City's land-based casino hotels, representing a 13% increase over September 2025.

While online gaming drove growth, physical casino floors in Atlantic City saw a 1.3% decline in wins. Table games dropped 17.6%, though slot machines grew by 4.6%. Sports betting revenue fell 14.3% to $77 million, a decline analysts attribute to a shorter football calendar and the emergence of prediction markets such as Kalshi and Polymarket.

FanDuel led the online market with $57.8 million in revenue, followed by DraftKings at $53.3 million and BetMGM at $35.4 million. Fanatics Casino recorded the largest percentage growth among major operators, with revenue increasing 187.4% to $14.7 million.

Total gaming revenue for September rose 2.8% to $579.6 million, bringing the year-to-date total for the first nine months of 2026 to $5.39 billion, a 5.1% increase over 2025. The state collected $82.7 million in gross revenue taxes for September, contributing to a year-to-date total of $756.8 million.
