Meta Invests $600 Billion in US AI Infrastructure
Meta Platforms plans to invest $600 billion in U.S. infrastructure and jobs over three years to expand its artificial intelligence computing capacity.
Meta Platforms is aggressively expanding its artificial intelligence infrastructure through a $600 billion investment in U.S. jobs and facilities over the next three years. To secure necessary computing capacity, the company established agreements with data center developer Crusoe for sites in Childress, Texas, and Warrenton, Missouri, and entered a partnership with Qualcomm.
Financial commitments have intensified, with Meta raising its fiscal 2026 capital spending guidance to a range of $125 billion to $145 billion. These investments support the rollout of new AI initiatives, including a business messaging agent, lower-cost smart glasses, and a paid subscription service known as Meta One.
Despite these launches, the company's stock has dropped more than 17% this year. Investors have expressed concern that the massive capital expenditures on data centers are depleting free cash flow without providing immediate evidence of high-margin revenue streams to justify the costs.
