CXMT Begins Mass Production of Fifth-Generation DRAM Chips

ChangXin Memory Technologies has entered mass production of its fifth-generation DRAM platform and 24Gb LPDDR5X mobile memory chips. The new platform utilizes an 11.95nm half-pitch, quadruple patterning, and capacitors with a 45-to-1 aspect ratio.

The Chinese manufacturer claims these technological advancements increase die yields per wafer by at least 50% compared to its previous generation. This production breakthrough increases competitive pressure on global memory leaders Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron.
