Peter Magyar Dismantles Viktor Orban's Right-Wing Brussels Network

Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar is dismantling a network of right-wing political and intellectual organizations in Brussels that were established by former leader Viktor Orban. Following Orban's defeat in the April election, Magyar has withdrawn state funding from several key institutions used to promote conservative views on gender ideology and immigration.

Among the affected entities is the Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC) Brussels, which Magyar ordered to return its $1 billion government endowment. Other organizations facing financial withdrawal include the Danube Institute and The European Conservative. Additionally, the Hungary House mansion in Brussels, a central hub for the network, currently stands idle.

This financial purge disrupts the institutional infrastructure of the European hard right. While the Fidesz party maintains its presence in the European Parliament's Patriots for Europe group, the loss of Orban's leadership and the removal of state funding represent a significant setback for the movement's financing and networking capabilities.
