Unnamed Developer Withdraws from Broken Arrow Data Center Deal

An unnamed company has withdrawn from a plan to develop a data center in east Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The developer initially expressed interest in April 2026 for a privately owned site located between State Highway 51 and the Creek Turnpike. The project ended when the letter of intent to purchase the property expired without being renewed.

City officials noted that the developer never requested formal applications or pre-development meetings. Despite the lack of formal engagement, the City of Broken Arrow used the initial interest to begin researching the impacts of data centers and communicating with concerned residents.

City Manager Michael Spurgeon stated that the city will continue its due diligence and comprehensive review of data center data to remain prepared for future proposals. Spurgeon indicated that while this specific project has faded, he expects other companies to consider developing data centers within the city in the future.
