Ghana and Finland Report Moderating Producer Price Inflation

Ghana and Finland both reported a moderation in producer price inflation for June 2026, reflecting a cooling of costs for producers in both regions.

In Ghana, the Ghana Statistical Service reported that year-on-year Producer Price Inflation (PPI) slowed to 3.5 percent, down from 5.8 percent in June 2025. Producer prices also fell by 3.7 percent on a month-on-month basis between May and June 2026. While the services sector saw the lowest annual inflation at 2.5 percent, some areas experienced severe spikes. Inflation for motion picture, video, and television production reached 87.9 percent, while fabricated metal products and land transport rose by 26.3 percent and 21.4 percent, respectively.

Parallelly, Statistics Finland reported that producer price inflation eased to 6.7 percent year-on-year, down from 7.4 percent in May. This moderation in Finland was driven by price drops in chemical and paper products, which helped offset price increases in basic metals, electricity, and refined petroleum.
