China Increases Trade Cooperation Within Shanghai Cooperation Organization
The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade is expanding business matchmaking and supply chain cooperation across Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states.
The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) has intensified efforts to deepen business cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). As the lead Chinese organization for the SCO Business Council, the CCPIT is focusing on commercial legal services, business matchmaking, and supply chain cooperation.
To facilitate these goals, the CCPIT organized Chinese business delegations to dialogue partners and member states, including Türkiye and Belarus. The organization also hosted a delegation of 29 companies at the SCO Investment Business Forum in Kyrgyzstan. These efforts align with the SCO's 25th anniversary and a broader push for regional economic integration.
Trade data indicates a rising trend in activity. The Ministry of Commerce reported that China's total trade with SCO members reached 523.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2025, accounting for 8 percent of China's total foreign trade. Additionally, the national trade promotion system issued 669,500 certificates of origin for exports to SCO members during the first seven months of the year, marking a 9.62 percent increase.
