Russian Drone Attacks Separate Ukrainian Soldier's Family

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues to separate hundreds of thousands of families, including that of Yevheniy Borysenko, a soldier with the 43rd Separate Artillery Brigade. While Borysenko operates in the fiercely contested Donetsk region, his wife, Alina, and their two daughters remain in Boryspil, southeast of Kyiv.

Russian jet-powered drones and ballistic missiles have increasingly targeted Boryspil, causing significant damage to apartment blocks near the Borysenko home. In response to the escalating air war, Borysenko has urged his family to seek safety in their grandmother's village during drone incursions.

Despite the risks, Alina Borysenko has expressed her determination to stay in Boryspil to remain with her children and mother-in-law. The situation illustrates the dual pressure on Ukrainian citizens who must manage the unpredictability of frontline combat and the expansion of missile threats into civilian centers far from the primary battle zones.
