CME Group reported a record-breaking average daily volume of 27 million contracts for July 2026. This represents a 23 percent increase compared to July 2025, with growth distributed across several asset classes.

Interest rates led the volume at 12.6 million contracts, while equity indexes followed with 8.2 million contracts. International average daily volume grew by 32 percent to 8.8 million contracts, supported by increased activity in the APAC and EMEA regions.

Specific products saw dramatic spikes in activity, including a 417 percent increase in 1-Ounce Gold futures and a 159 percent increase in Micro E-Mini Nasdaq-100 futures. Additionally, the BrokerTec overall average daily notional value rose 15 percent to reach 1.056 trillion dollars.
