Mastercard completed the acquisition of stablecoin payments company BVNK for $1.8 billion to advance its global stablecoin capabilities. The deal targets the integration of BVNK's product offerings and the execution capabilities of its team within the regulated financial services sector.
BVNK was scaled from an initial valuation of approximately $4 million to the multi-billion dollar exit by founders Jesse Hemson-Struthers, Donald Jackson, and Chris Harmse. The company built its growth on a high-performance culture that accepted only the top 1% of candidates and prioritized operational discipline through speed and decentralized autonomy.
