Israel Releases Letter From Yahya Sinwar's Son
The Israel Defense Forces published a letter from the son of late Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar expressing a desire to shoot Jews.
The Israel Defense Forces released a letter and drawings written by Ibrahim Sinwar, the son of late Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, on October 15, 2026. The materials, recovered by soldiers in the Gaza Strip in 2024, were written when Ibrahim was 10 years old at the start of the war. In the text, the child describes making model weapons from paper and cardboard and expresses a desire to "hold a Kalashnikov and shoot Jews."
The military stated that the letter and drawings of missiles and tanks illustrate how Yahya Sinwar's ideology and the values of Hamas are passed to the younger generation. Yahya Sinwar was killed on October 16, 2024, after which his family reportedly fled to Turkey using fake passports.
In separate operations, the Israel Defense Forces and the Israeli Security Agency killed two weapons smugglers, Basel Nabil Abd al-Rahman Kashta and Ahmad Raja al-Shaer, in the Khan Yunis area. Additionally, Israeli engineering troops dismantled a 1.5-kilometer underground tunnel used by Hamas near the Yellow Line ceasefire area in the southern Gaza Strip.
