Cohere Signs Intent to Acquire Cybersecurity Startup Aisle
Cohere signed a letter of intent to acquire AI cybersecurity startup Aisle to enhance threat detection for enterprise and public sector clients.
The Canadian AI lab Cohere signed a letter of intent on Thursday to acquire Aisle, a San Francisco-based cybersecurity startup. Aisle specializes in AI-driven software vulnerability detection and claims its technology identified over 500 software bugs in its first year, including 12 vulnerabilities in OpenSSL.
The acquisition aims to integrate advanced security and threat detection capabilities for enterprise and public sector clients, featuring private deployment on customer systems. This move occurs as Cohere forms a larger business entity through a reported US$20-billion merger with Germany's Aleph Alpha.
Beyond technical capabilities, the deal expands Cohere's European footprint through Aisle's engineering hub in Prague. Aisle was founded in 2025 by Ondrej Vlcek and former employees of Anthropic and Google DeepMind. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
