OpenWorld and Meridian Plan $1 Billion Distributed AI Network

OpenWorld, Inc. and Meridian signed a term sheet to build a $1 billion tokenized AI computing network powered by solar energy and Tesla Powerwall batteries.

OpenWorld, Inc. has entered into a non-binding term sheet with Meridian to establish a tokenized financing program of up to $1 billion. The initiative aims to build a distributed AI computing network that bypasses traditional data center constraints, such as water cooling needs and grid interconnection delays, by placing GPU-equipped compute nodes directly in homes, schools, hospitals, and commercial campuses.

The network will rely on on-site solar energy and residential battery storage. Meridian provides the project's foundation through exclusive purchase rights to over 160,000 Tesla Powerwall systems that qualify for federal clean-energy tax credits. OpenWorld will serve as the advisor, structuring agent, and services provider, utilizing its OpenWorld Enterprise platform to finance, monitor, and orchestrate the network.

Initial deployment targets 10,000 homes, where participating homeowners will receive monthly hosting payments and lower-cost electricity. Test installations are scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026, with the first commercial site targeted for the first quarter of 2027. If the transaction is consummated, Meridian founder Josh Raffaelli is expected to join the board of directors at OpenWorld.
