The United Arab Emirates will send high-level delegations to the IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok to advance digital finance and sustainable development.
The United Arab Emirates will participate in the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Bangkok, Thailand, from October 12 to 18, 2026. Two primary delegations will represent the nation's financial interests, led by Minister of State for Financial Affairs Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini and Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE Khaled Mohamed Balama.

His agenda includes the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting, the Annual Meetings Plenary Session, and a meeting of Arab Governors with World Bank Group President Ajay Banga. The UAE also plans to host a Banks Reception to strengthen ties between domestic and international financial institutions.
Governor Balama will lead a separate delegation focused on digital transformation, the integration of artificial intelligence for economic growth, and climate-resilient financial systems. The Central Bank intends to showcase its progress in fintech, green finance, and central bank digital currency projects. This delegation will participate in G20, G24, and MENAP Group meetings, as well as the GCC-Asia Economic Forum, with a specific focus on improving cross-border payment infrastructure.
