Israeli Forces Conduct Widespread Raids and Demolitions in West Bank
Israeli military forces carried out raids, building demolitions, and detentions across the West Bank while settlers attacked a village northeast of Ramallah.
The Israeli military conducted a series of widespread raids, residential demolitions, and detentions across the occupied West Bank on August 31, 2026. In Nablus, special forces abducted Fateh al-Ashqar and Qusay al-Hashash and demolished a three-story home in the Taawun Ulwi area. In Birzeit, north of Ramallah, military units used bulldozers to destroy two four-story buildings and detained seven Palestinians.
Additional military operations targeted Jenin, the Aqabat Jaber and Balata refugee camps, and the towns of Ajjah, al-Fandaqumiya, and Jaba. The Quds Governorate reported that these operations involved the use of roadblocks and tear gas during the demolition processes.
Simultaneously, illegal Israeli settlers attacked the village of al-Mughayyir, northeast of Ramallah. The Palestine Red Crescent Society reported that four Palestinians were shot and injured during the assault and were subsequently transported to hospitals. These events occur amid a broader increase in military offensives and settler violence that has persisted since October 2023.
