Disney and FieldAI Develop Robotic Parking Assistants for Disneyland
Walt Disney Imagineering and FieldAI created AI-powered robots resembling Pixar characters to direct guest parking at Disneyland as a technology experiment.
Walt Disney Imagineering and engineering firm FieldAI developed AI-powered autonomous robots to assist guests with parking at the Pixar Pals garage in Disneyland. The robots are designed to resemble characters from the films Cars and Wall-E and utilize glowing traffic control wands to direct vehicles.
Walt Disney Imagineering showcased the technology on November 3, 2026, during the Disney Accelerator Demo Day at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank. The project serves as an experiment to analyze how robots function in unstructured environments and how guests respond to the emerging technology.
Imagineering R&D Lab Director Doug Fidaleo noted that the potential for the park of the future to be teeming with robot characters influenced the partnership with FieldAI. Gary Daniels described the experience as imagining characters from Cars or robots from Wall-E directing guests where to park. Despite the demonstration, Disneyland officials stated there are currently no plans to launch the robots for public use.
