Mary Peltola, the Democratic nominee for the U.S. Senate in Alaska, postponed campaign events in Fairbanks and Bethel after she and her family were injured in a car crash on Saturday night. The collision occurred while the group was traveling to the Alaska Federation of Natives annual banquet in Anchorage.
Following the advice of medical professionals, Peltola rescheduled the first two stops of her seven-day Alaska Always Tour. Other planned events in Homer, Kenai, Seward, Juneau, Anchorage, and Palmer will proceed as scheduled. Peltola is currently challenging Republican Senator Dan S. Sullivan in a race for control of the Senate.
